Massive Laughs Comedy Night- Don’t miss out on an evening full of laughter!! Marcus will be performing at Copper Top (Beaver Run Resort) @ 8 p.m. He is the winner of the 2007 Seattle Comedy Competition and the 2007 Rocky Mountain Laugh-Off. Come see one of the fastest rising new talents in comedy!

Fiesta Latina- Celebrate Easter with a Latin flair at Fiesta Latina. Enjoy Latin dance performances and ski boot salsa lessons to the sounds of DJ Patricio on the deck of the Bergenhof Restaurant. Apres Ski Concert- Salem will perform @ 3p.m. at Copper Top(base of Beaver Run). They jammed at the X Games and have recorded with Warren Miller, now they’re coming to Breckenridge! Then head down to Main Street Station for an early evening performance from three time Grammy winner Jo Dee Messina.

Wednesday April 9
High Country Comedy Night- HCC presents John ‘Hippieman’ Novosad and Ben Roy @ 8:30p.m. at Park Avenue Pub.
Spring Chicken Day-Breckenridge Ski Resort would like to take a day to appreciate our 65+ Skiers and Riders. We are offering FREE Parking all day at the base of peak 8 and free lunch vouchers ($10 value) will be handed out at the Vista Haus Restaurant starting at 11:00am. Hope to see you there!

Massive Rail Jam: Benefit for Matt Wyffels- Skiers and riders grind it out at this Massive Rail Jam, benefiting Mayy Wyffels, a competitive snowboarder who was paralyzed. With prize money on the line for each rail, this competition is sure to be an all-out rail-sliding extravaganza! All proceeds will be donated to Matt for his physical therapy, which is teaching him how to walk despite his paralysis. There will be prizes, giveaways and live music! Massive Slopestyle Competition- Skiers and riders throw down in this progressive freestyle competition in the Freeway Terrain Park! A ‘massive’ cash purse is on the line with each skier/rider being judged on overall style, technical difficulty and creativity. Whether competing or watching this event should not be missed! Avalanche Dog Expo- Meet and greet the Breckenridge Avalanche Rescue Dogs! There will be obedience demonstrations and Avalanche Dog Drills let by the Breckenridge Ski Patrol. Photo opportunities with the dogs will be available from 11a.m.-1p.m. Go to the top of the Colorado Chair, then follow the signs!

Imperial Challenge- The 13th annual Imperial Challenge warms up with a 6.2 mile bike ride from the Town of Breckenridge to Peak 8, followed by a 2,500 foot ascent to the top of the Imperial Bowl. 28th Annual Breckenridge Film Festival
June 5-8, 2008

For the past 27 years, Breckenridge Film Festival audiences have enjoyed meeting scores of actors and directors. In addition to meeting the celebrities, festival attendees will have the opportunity to get a first look at Hollywood?s newest releases.
The Breckenridge Festival of Film is pleased to announce 8 premieres and 60 independent films slated for this year’s event, including The Children of Huang Shi, Kung Fu Panda, and Crazy. Joining a host of industry executives, filmmakers and the general public are actor Thomas Haden Church (Smart People & Sideways) and acclaimed director Roger Spottiswoode.

These films will accompany over 60 independent films, including works showcasing gay and lesbian topics, a range of spiritual areas, and Latin films and filmmakers, including Crazy – a documentary inspired by the life of legendary guitarist Hank Garland, Rabia, El Pasajero, Strong Coffee, The Big Question, Marionette, Freeheld, The Flyboys – an excellent family film, and Struck starring Jenna Elfman and Kelly Preston. Celebrate Breckenridge’s history during this two-day event. Founded in 1859, Breckenridge was inadvertently left off the official U.S. maps and became known as “Colorado’s Kingdom” until 1936 when it was finally incorporated. Kingdom days will celebrate this aspect of Breckenridge’s history as well as gold fields and mining, exploration and adventure, brothels and saloons, booms and busts.

Schedule of EventsFirecracker 10K Trail Run – 8:30 a.m. Race starts and finishes at Carter Park. Fire up your Independence Day morning with this scenic 10k trail race. This second annual event offers some of the best views in the Breckenridge area while finishing in time to see the Main Street parade and enjoy other festivities. Stop by the Breckenridge Recreation Center to register or call 970-453-1734 for additional information.

Fourth of July Parade – The Breckenridge Fourth of July Parade begins at 11 a.m. on North Main Street and proceeds to the south end of town.

Firecracker 50: Fifth Annual Firecracker 50-Mile AMBC MTB Epic – 11 a.m. start on Main Street Breckenridge. A tough cycling course climbing 12,000 vertical ft. 970-333-1159

Kids’ Water Fights – Following the parade until mid afternoon, kids’ can join the Red, White & Blue Fire Dept. for water fights on Main Street.

Free Concert: Royal Crown Review – 2p.m. at the Riverwalk Center. Stop by for an afternoon of swing with one of the country’s best big bands! The show is free of charge.

The weekend activities get under way on Friday, September 12th, with the Brewmaster’s Dinner. Guests at the dinner enjoy a unique multi-course meal, each course paired with a specialty Paulaner Bier.

 

Oktoberfest Street Party
September 13-14, 2008
Located on Breckenridge Main Street (100 and 200 S. blocks)
Saturday, September 13 – 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, September 14 – 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
The street party kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13th, and the official keg will be tapped at noon. The street party features live music with Those Austrian Guys, food and beverage vendors, Schuhplattler dancers, kids’ rides and inflatables and much more. This is a pet free event.

Breckenridge’s Oktoberfest is a no pet event.
