Party Like it is 1859 during Breckenridge Kingdom Days 2011 2012 Time to celebrate our heritage as a gold rush mining town, this is an event only Breckenridge can offer, because Breckenridge is one of the few true mining towns that are alive and thriving.  Founded as a mining town in the mid 1800's, and reinvented as a ski area in the mid 1900's, Breckenridge is a perfect combination of historic town and world class ski area, and every year we remember our roots and throw a party so that everyone else can enjoy being part of the legacy of Breckenridge.  Breckenridge Kingdom days history is calling you, we invite you to experience it.
