Top 5 things to experience on Breckenridge opening day 2012 2013

Breckenridge Opening Day 2012

Welcome to Breckenridge opening day 2012 2013, which will begin for you on November 9th, 2012!  As excited as we all get for this time of year, and as many great experiences as it brings, we have narrowed it down the the top five most exciting parts of Breckenridge opening day.  Drumroll….

1. Lots of opening day terrain- sure, ski area opening day at most areas include a short, narrow, “ribbon of death”.  However, in Breckenridge, we have one of the most comprehensive and effective snowmaking systems in the world.  SO no matter the early season conditions, Breckenridge is always open with plenty of terrain for everyone, and no ribbon of death.

2. Escape the crowd- Early season is a great time to hit the slopes, with no crowds.  Sure, there is limited terrain compared to peak season.  However, for the terrain that is open, the lack of people on the mountain make you feel like it is all yours.

3. Everything is fresh, new, and clean- From the wax on the bottom of your skiis, to the merchandise in our retail stores, to the warm and inviting attitudes of our helpful town employees, Breckenridge has a brand new, grand opening every November.  Everything has been shipped in, pulled out, dusted off, shined up, and prepared just for your vacation.

4. Early Season ticket prices- Aside from late spring, early season offers some of the best lift ticket rates of the entire year. Yes, 100% of the mountain is not open yet.  However, two seasons ago, the t-bar was open by Thanksgiving, so there is always a really good chance that you can grab both a great price, and a great experience.
