USA Pro Cycling Challenge Rolls through Breckenridge tomorrow, August 26th 2011, for the finish stage.

Don’t miss these hard grinding and ruthless riders as they make their way from Steamboat, over rabbit ears pass, swan mountain road, all the way into downtown Breckenridge for an epic finish to this stage. 

Remember, hwy 9 is closed from 2-5, in both directions, so you want to be here before 2 to see the action.

Breckenridge Mardi Gras 2011 Schedule

Bacchus Ball- March 5th  hosted by Beaver Run

This “Breck Formal” evening includes ballroom dancing, drinks, great Lousisana style eats and the crowning of the Rex and Queen. Hazel Miller will be preforming during the event.  Tickets are $45 per person and $85 per couple.

Fat Tuesday, March 8th

Mardi Gras parade on Main Street- beads, beer, and mountain style floats

4:30 p.m. on Main Street.

The traditional Mardi Gras comes to the High Rockies to make an incredible event only Breckenridge can throw.  Imagine all the fun of MardiGras in Louisiana, but with out the inherent danger of New Orleans- gotta be a good time!

freezing in breckenridgeWow, it has been ugly cold up here.  With temps well below 0 in town during the day, and way below 0 on the mountain, it has been bundle up and layer weather for sure.

One bright spot about freezing temps, it keeps our base high.  Here are the current mountain conditions for Breckenridge-
