Biking in Breckenridge, mind the Sharrows!

Main street sharrows

If you are coming to Breckenridge this summer, or any summer, note the Sharrows (share and arrow) Breckenridge has included on our town streets this year.  As an initial step to becoming a recognized bike friendly community Breckenridge has painted bike lanes, equipped with sharrows, to remind drivers and bikers alike that sharing the road is a great idea.

Bikers, remember, you have mto share too.  Please ride as far to the right as possible as to not impede the flow of traffic, and remember that you have to obey the rules of the road as well, which include obeying all traffic signs and lights.

Summer in Breckenridge?

Summer in Breckenridge, dry, sunny, beautiful, right?  Well 2 out of 3 ain’t bad!  Early summer was dry and sunny, river flows dropped quickly.  By July 6th Brown’s canyon was at 800 cfs, not exactly ideal conditions.  Then the last week of July came along, with day after day of heavy rain.  Not exactly great for those of you looking to ride bikes, or stroll main street.   However, for those of us that like to raft above the rocks or camp without the present threat of wildfires, this has been a welcome change.  Now, rain, come again another day, you have worn out your welcome.
