5 Things to Make your Vacation Rental Stand out from the Crowd

Vacation rental amenities
There are so many options for choosing a vacation rental. Between hotels, hostels and the myriad of AirBnBs – all that compete for loyal vacationers – how do you stand out in a crowd? Luckily in our years of experience, we have learned a few things that will help your vacation rental shine and be noticed. Here five things that can set you apart from other rental properties.

1) Unique Amenities

Hot tubs are always desirable, but many vacation rentals have them. There are other amenities that renters enjoy that can be even easier than hot tubs. Think about local activities and equipment that might help your renters enjoy their destination. Kayaks, bikes, snowshoes, sleds, and fishing gear are a few examples of things that might be fun for a renter to use.

2) Kid Friendly

Many families prefer vacation rentals to hotels because they can put young children to sleep and still stay awake, or they can have separate spaces for kids and adults. Lower-level game rooms are a big draw for families with teens. Bunk rooms for multiple kids to sleep together are also an amenity that families value. If you really want to appeal to families, you may also want to consider some outdoor play equipment, or toys and games to play with indoors.

3) Outdoor Spaces

An inviting outdoor space can attract nature lovers. Hammocks, cozy fire pits with chairs, grills, Adirondack chairs, and porch swings can create an ideal place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

4) Easy, Flexible Check-in/out

Make check-in and check-out as smooth and easy as possible. If your renter has special requests, such as an early arrival or late departure, do your best to accommodate them. Many vacation rentals have strict rules about this due to cleaning needs and quick turnover. When you are able to be more flexible, it will help you stand out as unique. People with special check-in and check-out requirements will be more likely to book your property.

5) Local Connections

People love to experience the local Breckenridge scene when they are on vacation. They like to feel that they have the inside scoop on their beloved vacation spot. Make a book with your “best of Breck” tips that include restaurants, bars, boutiques, and other off the beaten path places. If you know of any local parties or events that may not be widely advertised, be sure to invite your guests. These kinds of connections are what encourage renters to return year after year.

Stand Out

A cozy, inviting home is always the goal for a vacation rental in Breckenridge. What will make you stand out above the crowd is helping your renter have a distinct experience. Consider your location and the amenities that will help your renters connect with their destination. Whether it is a local party, sporting equipment, a warm fire pit with all the makings for s’mores, or a headache free check out, giving your renter the ideal experience will make them want to return and tell their friends about what a great time they had.

Best Cross Country Skiing Trails in Breck

cross country ski trails in breck

Most visitors to Breck are used to sliding down the slopes at top speeds, carving per-fect turns, and enjoying the thrill of a day on the slopes. However, there are other types of skis that are just as fun. Cross country skiing offers a whole new way to experience the mountains. This sport offers a quieter way to get deep into the mountain terrain and experience views and maybe even wildlife like you have never seen it before. This ski vacation consider heading out on one of Breck’s excellent cross country ski trails.

Breckenridge Nordic Center

If you are a beginner, the Breckenridge Nordic Center is the ideal place to start. It has miles of groomed trails that make cross country skiing more accessible to the beginner. You can also rent equipment and schedule a lesson with their friendly staff. There are also advanced trails that stretch into the Cucumber Gulch area that can challenge even advanced skiers. In addition, there is a cozy lodge where you can relax with a glass of wine and an appetizer by the fireplace after you ski.

Bemrose Ski Circus

When you want to head out on your own, the Bemrose Ski Circus is an ideal loop to try. It is easily accessible from Highway 9. Go south on Highway 9 and park at the top of Hoosier Pass. Carefully cross the highway on foot and you will see a trail marker just up from the embankment. The snow is nearly always ideal in this area and the views are spectacular from anywhere on the trail. There are several loops to choose from so you can make a longer or shorter trip.

Boreas Pass

Boreas Pass is usually known for its fall foliage in September. However, when winter hits, this road is closed to car traffic and is an excellent cross country ski trail. There is a steady incline, so be prepared to put in some effort to get to the top of the pass. It is a little over six miles to the top of the pass. Then, you can glide back down. Or, you can rent a hut at the top and stay the night. If you prefer not to go all the way up, you can turn at Banker’s Tank and take a loop back to the trailhead.

Gold Hill Trail

The parking lot and trailhead for Gold Hill Trail can be found on the left side of Highway 9 when going north out of Breckenridge. This is a relatively straight trail that climbs about 700 feet over three miles. The trail intersects with the Peak Trail if you want to go further, or you can head back down to the parking lot.

A Sport for Everyone

Cross country skiing is a sport that anybody can try and enjoy. While it comes naturally to many people, a lesson can really help beginners navigate the more challenging ter-rain that is common to the Breckenridge area. Once you are confident on your skis, you can see so much more of the beauty that Breckenridge has to offer. Try something new on your ski vacation this year!
