October is the perfect time to warm up with some delicious spirits, come together with neighbors and friends, and enjoy Breckenridge’s rich (and sometimes spooky) history. The Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival celebrates local distilleries with tastings, classes and parties, and offers family events such as hikes and walking tours. Set aside October 19-21st to enjoy craft spirits in Breckenridge.

Still on the Hill

The main event of the weekend is the Still on the Hill tasting event. This event is only for those 21 and up, so you may need to hire a babysitter. It kicks off at 4:00 at the Riverwalk Center. It will feature tastings, craft cocktails, appetizers, and live music. If you want to try a little of everything, this is the place to experience all of the spirits Breckenridge has to offer. Tickets are limited and will be available the day of the event if there are any left. We recommend you go ahead and buy yours in advance.

History Tours

Some of the buildings in Breckenridge that host bars and restaurants now were saloons back during the mining boom. If you are over 21, you can take a guided tour of these historic saloons, and learn some of the less savory history of Breckenridge. If you want an activity for the whole family, try a historic walking tour, or go on a longer guided hike to an old mining camp and ghost town. Sunday evening offers a twilight tombstone tour in Breckenridge’s historic cemetery. Learn about some of the notable figures buried there. You can register for many of the hikes and tours online to secure your spot. Some tours require preregistration, and others take walk-ups.

Classes

On Saturday you can take a course on how to start your distillery, learn about mixology, or how to cook with spirits. Take your love of craft spirits to a new level, sign up for a class and go a little deeper. The cooking course at Colorado Mountain College even includes a three course lunch. Sign up ahead of time to ensue your place in the class and enjoy learning from experienced locals.

Where to Buy Tickets

There will be plenty of other activities around town throughout the weekend. Breck Create will be hosting Día De Los Muertos activities. The Breckenridge Visitor’s Center will have dining passports that will include discounts and specials that local restaurants are offering throughout the weekend. Several bars will be hosting after parties that will take the festivities late into the evening. For a full schedule of events and to buy tickets or make reservations go to the Still on thehttps://www.breckenridgecraftspiritsfestival.com/ Hill website. Plan your fall getaway now so that you don’t miss this fun event.
