Frisco Colorado- how did this town come to be, what is the history, and why is this such a great place to vacation?
Like most of the early western towns in Colorado, Frisco was settled as a mining/coach stop/railroad port during the latter days of the gold rush. Frisco was founded by Henrey Recen in 1873 and began with a population of around 50 full time residents. Ten years later the town had swelled to about 250 residents. Frisco quickly became a large mining town and rail hub in the central Rockies.
130 years later Frisco has changed a great deal, but still retains its characteristic old mining town charm and central location. However, the central location is now a draw for vacationers and skiers looking to experience all summit county has to offer. Being centrally located to Copper Mountain, keystone, Vail, Breckenridge and A-Basin makes vacationing in Frisco Lodging a one of a kind adventure and a taste of our rich American history.
