A higher mid mountain base means less chance of a core shot on your skis or board. Also, the more snow accumulation that a resort has, and the more that has melted, the more icy the on mountain conditions. In Breckenridge we are looking at a fairly large storm that will blow through over the next several days, hopefully dumping 12 or more inches of new snow.
