July 3–5, 2025 | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Free Admission
Looking for something fun, creative, and totally family-friendly to do this Fourth of July weekend? Head to the Breckenridge July Art Festival, a long-standing summer favorite for locals and visitors alike. This year marks the 42nd annual event, and it's packed with colorful artwork, hands-on opportunities, and inspiration for all ages.
Held at the Village at Breckenridge on South Park Avenue, the festival is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. With free admission and a beautiful outdoor setting, it’s easy to drop by for an hour or spend the whole afternoon exploring. Kids will love seeing the variety of artwork—from vibrant paintings and sculptures to handmade jewelry and quirky mixed-media pieces.
Many of the 100+ artists are on-site and happy to chat about their work. It’s a great chance for children to meet real artists and ask questions about how things are made. You might even spark a new creative passion!
While this isn’t a craft fair with bounce houses, it’s still a great environment for little ones to use their imaginations. Parents can turn it into a scavenger hunt ('find a painting with a bear!' or 'spot something made of metal!') or bring along a sketchpad so kids can draw what inspires them.
Pair your visit with a stop at nearby Maggie Pond or grab a snack from local vendors to make the day even more memorable.
The festival is located right in downtown Breckenridge, so it’s a breeze to get there by foot, bike, or the town’s free bus system. Since it happens over the Fourth of July weekend, you can plan to enjoy the parade and other community events before or after exploring the festival.
Whether you’re raising a future artist or just looking for a relaxing outdoor activity the whole family can enjoy, the Breckenridge July Art Festival is the perfect stop on your summer weekend in the mountains.
