The Black Bear Lodge was exactly as advertised and more. The pictures do not do justice to the treats of the Breckenridge mountains. We had moose, fox, birds of all types greet us everyday. Coming from California, it was so quiet. We hiked daily with Peaks Trail just a short 0.2 mi. uphill from behind the house. The house is a short zig-zag dirt road to the house with easy driving in the summer. I imagine 4 wheel drive is a necessity in winter. The amenities of the home were perfect for 10 people with plenty of space to move around comfortably. The kitchen was AMAZING! We had a private chef in for dinner one night and he had everything he needed. Hot tub was so clean and perfect at night and in main bathroom was a steam room shower!!!!

The lodge is conveniently located to Breckenridge and the ski area, but backs up to National Forest land for a true wilderness feel. The Peaks Trial is literally just up the hill from the lodge and in summer provides a gateway to endless miles of mountain biking and the CO Trail, and in the winter easy access to cross-country ski trails and Breck ski area lifts. The lodge itself is roomy, all the rooms are spacious and have multiple windows providing a light, airy, modern feel. The master suite has multiple views of the mountains and a private deck. Be prepared to see fox, moose, elk, and maybe even a black bear. This lodge easily fits large group and is very clean. Multiple entries and two car garage. Highly recommend!
Fantastic Ski trip with family.

What an amazing home. Gorgeous mountain style, well-equipped kitchen, comfortably sleeps 8+. With kids I could see it hosting 12 without any problem. The location is amazing. Near the end of a road high up Ski Hill Road north of Breckenridge, it backs to national forest with Peak 6 less than a mile through the trees. The Peaks Trail is literally 200 feet behind the house, so mountain biking and hiking are mere steps away. Nordic Center trails are a few hundred feet beyond the Peaks Trail. Although the house feels remote given its proximity to seemingly limitless backcountry, the gondola lot is less than 15 minutes away. The house has the best of both worlds: Skiing a few minutes away, mountain solitude out the back door.
This home was beautiful and in a great location. Hot tub was readt for use everything appeared clean. Onoy complaint is that the home did appera clean but the sheets/towles didnt smell freshly cleaned and the pillows in some rooms had no pillow case and im sure where not washed as the one in my bedroom had someone elses hair on it. The owners or managers did respond to any questions Ibhad very quickly and where very polite. Cute little towns nearby. I would recommend this home to a friend and the only negative experience I had with this home was the cleanliness which I know is not the home owners fault

What an amazing space! This mountain getaway has it all... views, beautiful decor, comfort...if Breckenridge is on your list, this home should be where you stay!
The rental and area were very beautiful definitely an amazing destination for the family unfortunately the weather was not the best getting there but was amazing to experience once the weather settled .

Our family has stayed at numerous mountain-side spots (hotels, Air B&Bs, condos, resorts), and this was hands-down our best experience. The home is spacious, warm, and comfortable. Top-notch kitchen. It's great for skiers and also those that want to lounge around and enjoy the views or explore the mountainside. Although it's a short drive to the base (no problem with 4-wheel drive), the home has a peaceful seclusion that makes you feel like you've got your own secret slice of Breck. We can't wait to come back.

We loved the cabin and everything about it. Great views, cozy and comfortable rooms etc. It felt very homey and we’d definitely stay there again. Easy to book, friendly staff- awesome place.

The cabin was perfect for our family trip. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy everyone's company. The views from the front were amazing and clear skys to view the stars at night. The bbq and hottub were great and in working order. The house was very clean on arrival but the sheets felt very old and worn which would be my only complaint.
One recommendation is 4x4 is mandatory in the winter. Even with a Jeep Wrangler, our tire were slipping on multiple occasions going up and down the mountain.
Couldn't have asked for a better vacation. I would definitely recommend!
